Ronan/Trivia

Trivia

  • Ronan appears to be the exact opposite of Elesis; non-aggressive and more leader-like.[1]
  • Ronan seems to be intelligent and aware of the field, but there are rare times when he may make unnecessary or rude comments.
  • Harpe Noir was supposedly a servant and Ronan’s greatest companion, and the two reunited when Harpe travelled to bring information regarding Elscud; however, Harpe arrived during one of the Grand Chase’s conflicts with Ashtaroth, and, despite fighting alongside the Chase, he shielded his friend from Ashtaroth’s attack at the cost of his own life. Although the Chase, with the help of Kassias Grandiel, entered the Underworld through the Monster Train 301 to reacquire Harpe’s soul, they failed to save him, much to Ronan’s dismay.
  • Excluding Sieghart‘s “immortality” and those with their ages unknown, Ronan is the oldest member of the Grand Chase who is purely human.
  • Ronan is No. 4 of the Twelve Disciples.

Other

  • Ronan’s original story consisted of being possessed by Kaze’aze and forced him to fight the Grand Chase until they destroyed the Shadow Orb, the object controlling him, and joined them after witnessingDark Anmon and Xenia.
    • These events take place in the Korean comics, or “manhwa,” of Grand Chase. In the game, as the Grand Chase passed the Gorge of Oath, Ronan asked them to assist him in defeating Gaikoz, one of Kaze’aze’s generals. After Gaikoz’s defeat, Ronan wants to help Grand Chase to stop evil and joins them. There were no signs of Ronan being possessed.
      • Ronan’s backstory was later re-written, stating that Kaze’aze’s had possessed Ronan during the Serdin/Kanavan Wars and had him mercilessly attack the opposing kingdom. She also reiterates this during the events of the Tower of Disappearance, mentioning that his heart was filled with darkness. Yet, the Shadow Orb seems to have been written out.
  • In order of release, Ronan was originally the sixth character in most other versions. In several other servers, such as North America and the Philippines, he was the fourth.
  • Ronan was the only male character to have a full two set skill bar for all of his jobs until a revamp to Spell Knight removed that ability.
  • Like Arme, Lass, Sieghart, Dio, Zero, Ley, and Rufus, despite the fact that darkness is shown in this game as evil, Ronan uses dark magic, specifically shown in his skill tree and as an Abyss Knight.
  • With the exception of Spell Knight, Ronan has the ability to summon creatures to support him in battle.
  • With the exception of Abyss Knight, Ronan has at least some sort of buff to support his allies.
  • All of Ronan’s jobs have the word “Knight” in them (Spell Knight, Dragon Knight, Aegis Knight, and Abyss Knight).
  • All of Ronan’s jobs have at least one skill that has the word “Tempest” in it (Spell Knight: Tempest Blade,Dragon Knight: Sword Tempest, Aegis Knight: Tempest Slayer, Abyss Knight: Tempest Blade).
  • For a period of time, Ronan (Spell Knight) was given a “new” taunt.[2] “This is your limit!” was replaced with “Wanna be my personal hairstylist?” in which Ronan said it in a high, feminine voice. Some believe this taunt was supposedly for Amy (in which the taunt was released simultaneously with her), or most likely a joke by Ntreev (former publishers of Grand Chase). As of now, the taunt no longer exists.
  • The Arkham pet strongly resembles Ronan.
